St. Elizabeth Catholic High School will re-open Monday and classes will resume on a normal schedule.

The York Catholic District School Board announced that the health and safety concerns from the Dec. 29 fire at the Thornhill regional arts school have been addressed.

The school year calendar for St. Elizabeth has been slightly adjusted to make up for classes missed due to this week’s closure. The last day of classes for first semester will be Wednesday, Jan. 29, while the first day of classes for the second semester will be Thursday, Feb. 6.

A new exam schedule has been issued for this semester, so that there will be minimal disruptions to the academic program calendar, according to communications staff for the board.  College and university marks, for those applying to post-secondary institutions, will be submitted on time. Grade 9 Math EQAO testing will now take place Jan. 23 and 24.

All workshops and auditions for the regional arts program have not been affected and will run as scheduled.
