A pair of veteran City of Toronto councillors have come forward to publicly endorse King-Vaughan NDP candidate Natalie Rizzo in the Oct. 19 federal election.
Maria Augimeri, who represents Ward 9 (York Centre) and Anthony Perruzza, representative for Ward 8 (York West), gave Rizzo the nod over the weekend.
"I am honoured to receive the support of councillors Augimeri and Perruzza, both of whom have dedicated much of their lives to serving their communities. I intend to do the same for the people of King-Vaughan," said Rizzo in a statement.
"Natalie Rizzo will make a spectacular public representative. Here is an intelligent, knowledgeable and confident woman who is fully prepared to put in the long hours and work hard for her community in Ottawa. She will surely make her constituents in King - Vaughan proud," said Augimeri.
"Natalie has the passion and determination to get things done for the people of King-Vaughan. Whether it's working with Rogers to restore OMNI's ethnic language newscast, fighting youth unemployment, or assisting constituents in family reunification, and citizenship matters, Natalie will do good work for the community," added Perruzza.
