The City of Vaughan proudly welcomed professional soccer and Toronto FC II (TFC II) to their new home field during their first home game at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Over 850 people were in the crowd to cheer on their team as they went up against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua made a special appearance for the official coin toss at the start of the game. It was definitely an intense game for both teams. TFC II announced they would make the City of Vaughan their home this past January. The team competes in United Soccer League (USL) and opened their inaugural season on the road against the Charleston Battery on March 21st. TFC II will host regular season home matches at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan which can accommodate up to 2000 fans. Be sure to check them out!
