The storms the walloped the GTA Sunday appear to have done the most damage in northeast York Region.
As of this afternoon, a spokesperson for Hydro One said 1,631 customers in the East Gwillimbury, Stouffville, and Uxbridge area were still without power, which represented more than half of the 3,000 remaining customer outages in Ontario.
The storm knocked out power for more than 62,000 people in the province, spokesperson Tiziana Beaccega Rosa said.
Rosa said restoration is being targeted for later today.
The power outages not only have affected individual homes, but also numerous traffic lights are out, including Davis Drive and Hwy. 48 and Davis and Warden Avenue.
