Announced August 17, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change approved a plan by the CTC Source Protection Committee to protect the province’s drinking water sources. The Source Protection Plan directs municipalities, provincial ministries and other agencies to adopt specific policies or include the plan in legal decision-making in order to protect municipal drinking water sources. Landowners, businesses and farmers are also responsible for complying with the policies of the plan, which comes into effect December 31.
