Public high school teachers in Ontario have reached a tentative agreement with government, according to the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF).

After three months of silence between OSSTF and the Ontario government, talks resumed this week only three weeks before students were scheduled to return to class.

In a media release issued early Thursday morning, the OSSTF said that they have reached a tentative agreement for teachers and occasional teachers with the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA).

The tentative agreement has not yet been presented to all members for ratification and must first be endorsed by OSSTF local leaders who will meet later this week.
