Quotes:

“I am thrilled that our Government is making such a major $730,000 investment in these six community projects in Vaughan. Each one of these facilities plays a key role in the lives of Vaughan families, seniors, and many others - and this federal funding will ensure they continue to play that role for generations to come. I want to especially thank the Mayor for allowing the Government of Canada to partner with the City on four projects, as they will support the renewal and expansion of local landmarks like the Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre.”

-Hon. Julian Fantino, P.C., Member of Parliament for Vaughan

“As a city, effective, cooperative and respectful relationships with other levels of levels of government are vital to our social, cultural and economic growth. On behalf of the citizen of Vaughan I would like to extend gratitude to the Government of Canada for providing funding support through the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program. Projects in Vaughan included enhancements to three community centres, improved accessibility at an outdoor park, and renovations to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Woodbridge Branch. These renovations are important for city building because they help make our communities better and more enjoyable for everyone.”

-Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, P.C., Mayor, City of Vaughan

“MacKenzie Branch 414 was founded in 1946, and our building was built in 1948. For 69 years, we have served our Veterans and their families, and our community. I’m particularly pleased that our Branch can finally undertake the renovations that we have been dreaming of. With the financial support of the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, we can continue to do so for many years to come.”

“On behalf of MacKenzie Branch 414 Officers, Executive and Members, and the Vaughan community, we thank the Canadian government, through the Federal Economic Development Agency, for its support of our Branch. It is because of great government programs such as these that our Branch can grow, and continue in our commitment to honour, remember and serve our Veterans, our communities and our country, and become part of the ever growing Canadian culture and tradition that we as Canadians are very proud of. We appreciate the support of our Branch’s renovation project, which celebrate our nation’s proud heritage as we greet the 150th anniversary of Confederation.”
