Portion of Keele closed for watermain break

A portion of Keele Street in Vaughan’s south end is closed due to a water main break.

The break happened at Keele Street and Steeles Avenue East just before 9 a.m., according to a city spokesperson.

Two northbound lanes on Keele Street have been impacted by repair work, but a turning lane is being used to ease northbound congestion.

Southbound lanes are not being affected.

The lane closures are expected to impact the evening rush hour.

Signs are being erected on Keele Street, south of Steeles Avenue and eastbound on Steeles, west of Keele, to inform area drivers about the lane closures.
