Planning for climate change

July 22, 2015

A recent report by the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario discusses projections of what the future climate may look like in various geographic regions and the emerging climate data needs of Ontario decision makers.

The report, entitled Connecting the Dots on Climate Data in Ontario, argues that Ontario communities should no longer be built based on historic weather patterns.

It says that we need better access to good data to address the changing climate in order to plan for the future. The report is based on the presentations and discussions from a roundtable the commissioner hosted earlier this year and explores some recommendations for moving forward on these issues.
