The TORONTO2015 Pan Am Games was only a few weeks away when it arrived at Vaughan City Hall on June 24th. It was a beautiful day and the perfect opportunity to kick off the festivities as the torch arrived in the city. Students, families and members of the community showed up in full force as they celebrated this moment in history as the Pan Am Torch Relay made its way to Vaughan! There was a lot to see and do at the event including shooting hoops, live entertainment and performances, tasty treats and refreshments courtesy of President’s Choice and so much more. Pan Am Pachi made a special appearance at the event where he got everyone pumped up for the torch arrival. Andi Petrillo, a Maple native and Canadian hockey broadcaster brought in the torch and lit the cauldron as the crowd cheered her on. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, MP Julian Fantino, MPP Steven Del Duca and Members of Council were there to welcome Andi and thank everyone for attending this special event.
