Firefighters are battling a two-alarm house fire in Thornhill that has now spread to a neighbouring home.
No injuries have been reported.

Vaughan fire responded to a call at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening about thick, black smoke billowing out of a house on Thornbridge Drive, near the intersection of Yonge and Centre Streets.

Neighbours told CTV that the house was under construction and nearing completion. Firefighters believe the house was empty at the time of the fire.

York Regional Police said neighbouring homes were evacuated as a safety precaution.

Powerstream, the energy company that operates in the area, said the fire knocked out power to 84 nearby homes.

Thornbridge Drive is closed in both directions.

The fire is still burning.
