PowerStream Supporting City of Markham's Globalfest

PowerStream will be supporting the City of Markham's Globalfest event which gets underway this Saturday July 11 at 16 Main Street Unionville South.
Operating nine days, from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 19, Globalfest will be the largest free multicultural street festival held in York Region. It is being organized by the City of Markham, with supporters like PowerStream, to celebrate the 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games coming to the City.
PowerStream is encouraging its customers and the public at large to celebrate the cultures of the Americas and Markham, Canada's most diverse city, by coming out to the event.
The festival will feature 95 performances by over 600 artists representing the cultures of the 41 Pan American countries participating in the Games. Each day of the festival is themed to reflect the diverse artistic genres of the Americas which have become an integral part of Markham's cultural mosaic. In addition to performances and artisan displays, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of international foods and beverages as well as other family-oriented activities.
Globalfest kicks off this weekend with performances from several high profile names in South American/Caribbean music and dance as well as local bands and artists. PowerStream customers and their families can join the utility at Globalfest's closing Family Day & Music of Hollywood celebration on July 19 which will feature artists such Canada's Children's 2014 Group of the Year Splash 'n Boots along with the Toronto Concert Orchestra performing a tribute to Hollywood, the Sultans of String, and more.

BACKGROUND
While Globalfest is Markham's first nine-day free street festival, the City also offers residents and visitors many other unique festivals throughout the year such as the Unionville Village Festival and Unionville Simcoe Day Festival. Markham's Arts Council also hosts exciting sports events, entertaining music and film festivals as well as celebrations of food and culture from around the world.
