Congestion in the Jane Street and Hwy. 7 area is about to worsen.
The TTC has announced that starting Monday, June 15 a stretch of Hwy. 7 starting just west of Jane Street over to Edgeley Boulevard will be reduced to four lanes from six lanes.
The lane reductions, slated to be in place until the end of the year, are to facilitate construction work on the subway station and to create the connection from the subway to the vivaNext bus rapidway, according to TTC officials.
While construction work is underway, the walkway on the north side of Hwy. 7 will also be closed. Pedestrians will have to use a new walkway on the south side to get through the area.
