Province announces Open Data Directive
NRU
May 6, 2015
On May 1, Ontario became the first province to post a draft Open Data Directive for public feedback. The directive aims to make data that the government collects and generates on topics such as school enrolment and traffic volume on provincial highways. Public uses for this data could include building maps, apps and models to help the province tackle gridlock or make health care service options more accessible. Feedback from the public will be used to help shape the final directive, which will be submitted for government approval in the fall of 2015.
