Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca joined students and faculty of Fossil Hill Public School on April 17th for the Earth Day Clean Up event. Everyone gathered in the school gym where Principal Scott Chin and Trustee Linda Aversa welcomed Mayor Bevilacqua and Councillor DeFrancesca to the stage. Both Mayor Bevilacqua and Councillor DeFrancesca said a few kind words and encouraged everyone to do their best out there and pick up as much trash as they could! There was a brief presentation which focused on saving the earth and being as environmentally friendly as possible. After a fantastic musical performance by a group of students, everyone walked outdoors where they were equipped with gloves and trash bags to get the job done. It was wonderful seeing the students so enthusiastic about cleaning up for Earth Day.
