Volunteer Recognition Event

May 2015
Every year, the City's non-profit organizations and community groups are invited to nominate one individual each whose passion and actions make a distinct impact in the community. In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recognized the efforts of 66 local volunteers at a special ceremony at Vaughan City Hall on April 16th. Family and friends were invited to attend the special event as the award recipients received a volunteer recognition certificate and lapel pin from Mayor Bevilacqua. The festivities also included a performance by Alexandra Tersigni, a Grade 11 student and Vaughan resident, who sang the national anthem. Congratulations to all of the recipients!
