Ward 5 Civic Hero Award presented to Jenna Zaracoff and Zachary Winkler

Young philanthropists, Jenna Zaracoff and Zachary have worked hard to raise thousands of dollars for various charities. The two Grade 8 students realized the power of giving back and established community events to support personal causes. Vaughan Council recently presented the two with a Civic Hero Award for Ward 5 in recognition of their valiant efforts. Jenna from Thornhill started a lemonade stand when she was only 8 years old to raise money for Lymphoma Canada. This annual event is held in memory for her father who passed away from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Zachary hosts his annual 'Do Something Sweet' event to help all sick children and has raised over $50,000 in eight years. Congratulations to both on receiving the Ward 5 Civic Hero Award!
