Richmond Hill concrete company making cyclists safer

Innocon has installed on some of its trucks a nylon panel dubbed 'The Guardian' that will help prevent cyclists and pedestrians from becoming trapped underneath one of the hulking vehicles.

The side guards cost about $1,100 and the company, whose head office is located on Newkirk Road, plans to install them on its entire fleet in the coming months.

Companies are not required by law in Ontario to install safety guards on their trucks.
