This week Vaughan Secondary School in Thornhill is going back in time - 25 years back, in fact.

Vaughan Secondary School at 1401 Clark Avenue West in Vaughan is celebrating its 25th anniversary from May 26 through 29.

Organizers have planned a week full of festivities, with pep rallies, a spring fling music concert, an outdoor carnival, open house and a time capsule burying ceremony.

Vaughan Secondary School alumni are invited, along with past and current staff, to come and celebrate this momentous occasion together, and walk down memory lane of the years they spent in the school.

The first events will occur Tuesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. when there will be pep rally and opening ceremonies, a time capsule opening, an alumni basketball game, with tickets costing $5, plus an open house.

Wednesday’s festivities run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. with a spring fling music concert featuring VSS music alumni. Tickets are also $5 and can be bought at the door.

On Thursday, May 28, the fun runs from 6 to 11 p.m. featuring a current and alumni staff banquet at $45 per ticket, which can be purchased online.

Friday’s wrap-up activities from noon to 2 p.m. include a "Vaughanalonaloo" outdoor carnival, and time capsule burial and closing ceremony.
