Political actions count more than websites

Re: Vaughan regional councillor: coming soon to a website near you?, May 7.
Upon reading this article about Councillor Marrio Ferri’s “invisible” website, I recalled a recent interaction I had with Councillor Ferri’s office.
I contacted Councillor Ferri’s office through the Vaughan city council email address, which I found online. Admittedly, I did not find any information on his website.
I received a prompt reply from Councillor Ferri’s office and the matter about which I had expressed concern received effective and immediate attention. I look forward to such prompt and good service if there are any issues in the future.
In the past, I had made various attempts to have this same issue attended to. At that time I dealt with another councillor (who is not currently on council).
That councillor had a fine image, a wonderful website, and spouted all the right cliches. But no concrete action was ever taken.
While websites do, indeed, have their place, we should remember that, ultimately, it is the actions, not just the words and websites, of our public servants that matter the most.
