Nothing to watch on TV? Check out Aurora’s joint operations centre construction online
The town has just launched a 24-7 live streaming of the Industrial Parkway North construction site to allow residents to check out the progression of the project. The new stream, available at aurora.ca/JOCstream, is intended to provide residents a real-time opportunity to see how capital funds are being spent, according to Mayor Geoff Dawe.
Viewers will be able to see construction during the day and the illuminated facility at night. The stream will remain live until the construction is complete.
Last year, council approved the $17-million contract to Buttcon Ltd for the construction of the facility, which is being financed through development charges and the sale of employment lands.
The centre will replace the Scanlon Court operations centre and will provide service to the growing community, anticipated to reach a population of more than 70,000 by 2031.
