26th Annual Business Achievement Awards Dinner
 
It is with great anticipation we announce the 26th Annual Vaughan Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards which will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Paramount Conference & Event Venue. This event recognizes and celebrates the successes and contributions of exceptional businesses and their achievements in the Vaughan community. As part of this year’s entertainment we will welcome Kevin O’Leary, Keynote speaker for the evening.
 
Mrs. Rossana Magnotta, President & Chief Executive Officer, Magnotta Winery, will be presented with the Philanthropic Business Person of the Year Award by Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, in recognition of her exceptional community involvement and outstanding achievements.
 
For more than two decades Rossana has been passionate about healthcare. A long time supporter of Toronto hospitals, foundations and charitable organizations, she has sat on the Board of Directors of Humber River Regional Hospital, pioneered a prescreening program for Colorectal Cancer and is now leading the way to build Canada’s first research facility for Lyme Disease.
 
For eight years she has been tackling the obstacles that are preventing Lyme Disease sufferers from being heard by telling Canadians the real story about this devastating disease. Through her winery, Rossana has launched awareness campaigns and major fund raising initiatives from annual events to charity wines and works diligently as a member of the board. She has also established The G. Magnotta Foundation for Vector-Borne Diseases, a non-profit organization with the primary mission to help establish Canada’s first research facility for Lyme Disease that will lead to better testing and treatment for Canadians.
 
Over 500 guests will be in attendance including many community leaders and dignitaries. Guests include Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, MPP Steven Del Duca, York Region Chairman & CEO Wayne Emmerson and members of City Council.
