International Women’s Day Celebration at Vaughan City Hall

The City of Vaughan, in collaboration with the Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women, celebrated International Women's Day on February 26th at Vaughan City Hall. Event Emcee, Sunder Singh of the Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women welcomed Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua to the stage where he thanked everyone for coming. There were several exciting activities taking place throughout the afternoon including talks from guest speaker, Evelyn Rayson and an interactive activity led by Stefano DiMatteo. There was a special presentation by Dr. Angela Mailis, director and founder of the Comprehensive Pain Program at Toronto Western Hospital/University Health Network and founder and director of the Pain and Wellness Centre in Vaughan. Fina Scroppo, Author of “The Healthy Italian: Cooking for the Love of Food and Family” and Sandra Scarpelli, Member of the Professional Photographers of Canada were also present for this special event. Networking opportunities were available towards the end of the event as well. All attendees had a great time at the International Women's Day Celebration at Vaughan City Hall.
