TTC completes Wi-Fi installation at two more subway stations

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) finished installing and activating free Wi-Fi services at its Museum and Spadina subway stations, the agency announced late last week.

The move is part of the TTC's plan to offer free Wi-Fi at all 65 planned and current stations over the next two years.

The agency is working with the BAI Group's Canadian subsidiary to install the networks. The BAI Group is building and operating wireless networks for MTA New York City Transit.

Funded by advertising, the new Wi-Fi services will not incur costs for the agency or its customers, TTC officials said in a press release.

"Taken together with initiatives such as being able to access next train information directly from our website, [the Wi-Fi installation] is another important step forward in modernizing the TTC," said TTC Chief Customer Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Chris Upfold.
