Adam Schickedanz and Rene De Vries are banned from running for municipal office in the next election.
The two council candidates failed to file their financial statements by 2 p.m. March 27.
Even though De Vries withdrew from the last fall's Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville election, the Ward 4 candidate still needed to complete a financial statement and submit it to the town clerk.
Schickedanz lost to Maurice Smith in the Ward 2 (Ballantrae and Musselman's Lake) race.
Mayor Justin Altmann spent $3,254 on fundraising events and activities but he only raised $560 at an event attended by 28 people who each paid $20, according to his financial statement.
Mayoral candidate Phil Bannon spent $5,633 on his voting day party and appreciation notices, according to his financial statements.
Altmann spent nothing on his party.
Altmann’s campaign garnered just over $10,000 in donations from individuals and another $13,000 from corporations.
Bannon also received just over $10,000 in donations from individuals, while corporations pitched in around $23,000.
Richard Bartley, who also ran for mayor, spent $5,299 on his voting day party and appreciation notices.
Arnold Neufeldt-Fast, who also ran for mayor, spent just under $10,000 for his entire campaign, while the other mayoral candidate - Willie Reodica - spent nothing on his bid for office, according to financial statements released by the town.
