Brampton seeking university campus

Mayor Linda Jeffrey announced March 3 the formation of a Blue Ribbon Exploratory Panel for establishing a university in the City of Brampton. The panel’s role will be to provide the mayor and city council with a realistic plan to attract a university campus.

The chair of the Blue Ribbon panel is former Ontario premier William G. Davis, with vice-chair Jaipaul Massey-Singh of the Brampton Board of Trade. Panel members are: Gurjit Bajwa (Brampton Civic Hospital, William Osler Health System); Rumi Chunara (New York University); Neil Davis (Davis Webb LLP); Ranjit Dhaliwal (Mortgage Intelligence); city councilor Gurpreet Dhillon; Winston Isaac (Ryerson University); Ranjit Katkhar (Peel Poverty Action Group); regional councillors Martin Medeiros and Gael Miles; former city councilor Terry Miller; Naveed Mohammed (William Osler Health System); Sandip Rana (Franco-Nevada Corporation); Malkit Singh Saini (Advance Kitchen Cabinets); and Daisy Wright (The Wright Career Solution).
