East Gwillimbury mayor earns about $110K for work at town, York Region

The numbers are in for East Gwillimbury council salaries and benefits for 2014.
Mayor Virginia Hackson’s salary was $66,630, plus she received just more than $50,000 from York Region for her work as a regional councillor.
Councillors Marlene Johnston, Cathy Morton, Tara Roy-DiClemente and John Eaton each earned $41,753 while new councillors James Young and Joe Persechini each received $1,614 for the month of December.
The mayor received a car allowance of $8,580 while the councillors Roy-DiClemente and Johnston received $4,290 and councillors Eaton and Morton received $4,125.
In terms of discretionary expenses, Hackson led the way with expenses totalling $1,581. The majority of the mayor’s expenses fell under professional development with $339 falling under other expenses. Eaton filed $896 for expenses with $361 filed under professional development. Roy-DiClemente filed $653 for expenses with $475 under professional development. Johnston had $226 all filed under other expenses and Morton claimed no discretionary expenses.
Persechini also had $304 of expenses under professional development while Young claimed no expenses.
