There’s a new taxpayer advocacy group in town.
The Newmarket Taxpayers Advocacy Group will make its presence known to Newmarket council during a meeting at town hall March 30. Organizers will introduce themselves at that time.
It is billed as a non-political, non-partisan, advocacy organization dedicated to achieving fair taxes, less waste and transparency and accountability in government.
Members seek to work collaboratively with government, according to a media release issued by the group March 11. The organization is a provincially incorporated non-profit ratepayers group and member of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
