The Children’s Treatment Network, in partnership with the City of Vaughan, will host a Special Needs Information & Recreation Fair Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Vellore Community Centre in Woodbridge.

Families living in York Region and Simcoe County with children, youth and young adults who have special needs, will have an opportunity to connect with more than 55 York Region agencies, organizations and businesses that provide specialized programs and services.

The fair will include displays and resources about summer camps, day programs, recreational activities, music therapy, respite services, autism support services, family support groups, physical, social and life skills programs, and financial services.

This is an opportunity for families in the region with individuals with special needs to access information and services that will make their lives easier, and address the needs of the whole family.

Children’s Treatment Network serves more than 6,000 children and youth with multiple special needs in York Region and Simcoe County by providing rehabilitation and clinical services through a network of partner healthcare agencies, school boards and community agencies. The network is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

The City of Vaughan offers diverse recreational opportunities for persons with disabilities within their community at a level of participation suitable to their ability and program choice.

To facilitate opportunities for individuals with special needs to engage in leisure pursuits, the recreation and culture department provides inclusive and specialized recreational programs and inclusion support.

The Vellore Village Community Centre is located at 1 Villa Royale Ave., at Weston Road, south of Major Mackenzie.
