Several businesses across the city participated in the 13th Annual Vaughan Business-to-Business Expo hosted by the Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC). On February 11th, various business owners and representatives made their way to Terrace Banquet Centre for an afternoon all about “Transforming Social Relationships into Sales.” This year’s expo focused on teaching business owners how to build new relationships and leverage existing relationships with their target market to increase sales. There were a number of guest speakers at the expo including Jennifer Powell, Principal of SPLASH Media Engagement & BlissDom Canada, and Steven Tulman, Vice-President of Strategy and Business Development at ICM Consulting Corporation, who explained how to sell in a culture that doesn’t want to be sold, stay relevant when consumers are being bombarded with information and generate a following through social media. Learning how to build brand loyalty by becoming a social enterprise or “giving back” to a cause that fits with your target market was also a popular topic of discussion. VBEC recognized Sandra Abballe, Founder and Chief Chef at Succulent Chocolates and Sweets Inc. as a Young Entrepreneur who has mastered the art of social selling. All participants at the expo had the opportunity to showcase their products or services and receive sales advice from several business experts.
