Vaughan planning commissioner John MacKenzie will sit on a panel looking at protecting environmentally sensitive land in southern Ontario, including the Oak Ridges Moraine, from development.
Former Toronto mayor David Crombie will lead the panel, which will review the Greenbelt Plan, the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, the Niagara Escarpment Plan and the Horseshoe Growth Plan.
The 10-year-old legislation, which protects environmentally sensitive land from Niagara to Peterborough, must be reviewed this year.
Municipal Affairs Minister Ted McMeekin said the province wants to protect more land.
