Mayor John Tory (open John Tory's policard) continues his honeymoon with Torontonians, garnering a 72 per cent approval rating in a March 15 poll by Forum Research. That’s up from 65 per cent in mid-February.
The same poll explored the views of 520 respondents on a pot pourri of other current topics, from pot-growing regulations to what should happen to the Honest Ed’s site.
Despite high marks for Tory, the poll found a low degree of faith in government to get big capital projects done quickly and cost-effectively.
“With the news the Spadina subway extension to Vaughan is significantly over budget and late, and the suggestion that the Scarborough subway will suffer the same fate, it is not surprising there is substantial skepticism that the city can build anything large on time or within budget,” said Forum president Lorne Bozinoff.
At the same time, a majority of Torontonians think it’s a good thing to get ahead of coming medical marijuana operations by setting up regulations, as Mississauga recently did.
