Job and business growth in Vaughan continues on a strong upward trend, a new report reveals.
The city now boasts 10,900 businesses, well up from 10,231 businesses in 2013. That represents growth of 2.7 per cent. Employment growth is also up 3.1 per cent in the same period.
The Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC) has been active in meeting with entrepreneurs. It completed 1,400 consultations in 2014, a jump of 67 per cent over the previous year. That helped 346 new businesses open and generated employment for 772 people.
“We are committed to the continued growth of our business base in Vaughan as part of our goal to improve the quality of life and standard of living for the entire community,” Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua said. “By working together, we are creating a world-class city, creating jobs and establishing Vaughan as a destination for international investment.”
