Do you know someone who is environmentally and energy friendly?

Does this person make an effort to reduce his energy and environmental footprint?

If so, you could nominate them to be the next recipient of Earth Hour Vaughan’s Green Hero award.

It’s that time of year again when Earth Hour Vaughan is searching for every day green heroes to be recognized at the 2015 Earth Hour event on March 28.

We are looking for students, individuals, or families who take special care to reduce their impact on our planet, especially by conserving energy.

Perhaps you know someone who has upgraded the insulation in their home; hangs laundry to dry; turns off the lights and powers down electronics when not in use.

Maybe this person carpools or takes transit to work or school.

Perhaps they have invested in upgrades or technologies that make their home more energy efficient, such as a new furnace or solar panels.

To nominate a person,  a family, or yourself, please get the person’s permission and send the contact information to Martha Bell via email at martha_bell@yahoo.ca.

Winners will be recognized and awarded a prize at the Earth Hour Vaughan event on March 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Vaughan city hall.
