Federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau was in Oakville Monday where he met with a handful of politicians and federal candidates to discuss public infrastructure in the Greater Toronto Area.
The meeting took place at the Holiday Inn - Oakville Centre.
Discussion centred on the benefits of greater investment in infrastructure — attracting business, increasing productivity and enhancing quality of life.
Last year, the federal Conservative government announced $9-billion in funding over 10 years for national and regional projects such as highways, transit, green energy and wastewater.
Among the politicians attending were Trinity-Spadina MP Adam Vaughan, Markham-Unionville John McCallum, Oakville Mayor Rob Burton, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey and Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti.
Oakville Liberal candidate John Oliver and Oakville-North Burlington Liberal candidate and Ward 6 Town Councillor Max Khan and Pickering Uxbridge Liberal candidate Jennifer O’Connell also met Trudeau.
