City of Vaughan Hires New City Manager

After a thorough recruitment process, the City of Vaughan is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Steve Kanellakos as City Manager, effective May 2015.
Mr. Kanellakos brings more than two decades of municipal experience to the City of Vaughan, including most recently serving as the City of Ottawa's Deputy City Manager of City Operations. In this role, he was responsible for Community and Social Services, Emergency and Protective Services, Parks, Recreation and Culture Services, Public Works, Transit Services, Environmental Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, and ServiceOttawa.
Mr. Kanellakos has been a champion of Council's Service Excellence priority to transform the City of Ottawa into a client-centric organization.
Mr. Kanellakos will be replacing Interim City Manager Barbara Cribbett, who is retiring after five years with the City of Vaughan and more than 30 years in public service. She was appointed Commissioner of Finance and City Treasurer in late 2009 and took over as Interim City Manager in 2013.
