Land Transfer Tax only in Toronto

Municipal Affairs and Housing minister Ted McMeekin announced December 1 that the province will not be extending Municipal Land Transfer Tax powers to Ontario municipalities other than Toronto, where it already exists. The decision was based on consultations with a range of stakeholders during the Municipal Act review.

Online community engagement

Oshawa has recently launched the final phase of its website redevelopment project called Connect Oshawa, an online community engagement resource. The new website will allow the city to share programs, policies and initiatives in addition to seeking feedback from residents and other stakeholders.
