The Vaughan Community Wellbeing Coalition released the Vaughan Community Wellbeing Report on Nov. 3rd at Vaughan City Hall as it measured what matters. The report has been based off the internationally recognized Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW). The report provided an in-depth preview about Vaughan’s quality of life that focused on community vitality, democratic engagement, education, environment, healthy populations, leisure & culture, living standards and time use. The members of the Vaughan Community Wellbeing Coalition included: City of Vaughan, United Way Toronto, York Region District School Board and others. Some of the opening remarks were offered from City of Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua & Chair of Vaughan Tony Carella. There were many panelists who fielded questions and some of the Keynote speakers included: internationally recognized educator, Charles Pascal & the former Ontario Minister of Finance and current Chancellor of York University, Greg Sorbara. Overall, it was an informative event that gave the community a glance at what’s going on in the community and what to expect in the near future.
