Fifteen new provincial ridings created

The Ontario legislature passed the Electoral Boundaries Act 2015 December 2, increasing the number of provincial ridings in southern Ontario and aligning them with the new federal electoral boundaries.

The legislation introduced fifteen new ridings, mostly in areas experiencing high population growth including Toronto, Peel Region, York Region, Durham Region and Ottawa.
