A slate of guest speakers will share some shocking truths about home safety hazards during a free seminar dealing with electrical and fire hazards next week.

The seminar takes place at Vaughan city hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr., on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with registration starting at 6:30 p.m.

It will feature presentations by Andre Clafton, acting fire captain with the Vaughan fire department; Ted Olechna, from the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA); Frank Cohn, host of the Home Improvement Show on Newstalk 1010 and John Romanetti, from Birnie CurrentSafe.

Clafton will, among other things, be addressing ongoing concerns about the lack of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in homes.

The first 25 people to register for the seminar will receive a free carbon monoxide alarm.
