Vaughan Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a fire in a Glen Crescent home yesterday at about 4:30 p.m.

Glen Crescent is in the Bathurst and Centre Streets area of Thornhill, off of Rosedale Heights Drive.

The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, according to Fire Chief Larry Bentley.

The cause of the fire was accidental, according to the Ontario Fire Marshal investigator who attended the scene.

Fire and associated damage to the townhouse was extensive and was estimated at $150,000, Chief Bentley said.

Two people, a woman and a three-year-old child, were transported to hospital as a precaution.  The woman suffered minor burns.

The woman was alerted to the fire by a home smoke alarm, according to officials.

The woman and child were both released from hospital Monday night.
