East Gwillimbury will begin 2016 budget discussions Nov. 10 and Nov. 13.

Factors affecting next year’s budget are a 2.4-per-cent inflation, maintaining core programs and services and a continued focus on the dedicated multi-year funding plan for the emergency services.

The town’s commitment to a 24/7 full-time fire service has added significant budgetary demands as the town hires more employees.

The town plans to hire an additional two full-time firefighters per year for the next four years.

The town will have to wait for much of the new tax revenue from new development to roll in and it’s estimated it takes 18 months to get tax revenue back in to the town.
