The mother of three kids killed in a deadly crash in Vaughan last month says she has faith in the justice system.
Jennifer Neville-Lake made the comment to reporters outside a Newmarket courthouse Monday following a brief appearance for the man charged in the crash.
Her children - nine-year-old Daniel, five-year-old Harrison, and two-year-old Milly - were all killed along with her father Gary Neville, 65, after the van they were in was T-boned by an SUV in Vaughan on Sept. 27.
Speaking with reporters Monday, she said she has been “in triage mode” since the crash.
"If I allowed myself to succumb to the grief that I'm feeling, my children would still be at the coroner's office," Neville-Lake said.
She also said that her children had interacted with the man charged in the crash, 29-year-old Marco Muzzo, in King City on previous occasions prior to the crash when he had visited their store.
Muzzo is facing a list of charges, including impaired driving causing death in connection with the crash.
He made a brief court appearance Monday when his lawyer asked for a bail hearing to be pushed back further to Nov. 12.
