VAUGHAN-WOODBRIDGE: Riding snapshot

With Election Day on Oct. 19, we provide a quick snapshot of local ridings. Here’s Vaughan-Woodbridge.

Riding Boundaries: The newly formed riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge was carved out of the much larger former riding of Vaughan. The new riding is bounded by Major Mackenzie Drive in the north, Hwy. 400 in the east, Hwy. 50 in the west and Steeles Ave. in the south.

Candidates: Elise Boulanger Green Party of Canada; Julian Fantino Conservative Party of Canada; Anthony Gualtieri Libertarian Party of Canada; Francesco Sorbara Liberal Party of Canada; Adriana Marie Zichy New Democratic Party

Fun Fact: Voter turnout in Vaughan during the 2011 federal election was 55.1 per cent, according to Elections Canada. That was up from 51.9 per cent in 2008.
