14th Annual Alternatives Golf Classic

Snapd Vaughan East/Woodbridge
Sept. 2015

Under beautiful sunny skies, the participants in this year’s 14th Annual Alternatives Golf Classic enjoyed a great day in the community for an even better cause. With both the East and West Courses in use at The Country Club, organizers were able to lure a considerable contingent of donors and guests, committed to Creating Alternatives, a local organization that provides a Day Program for adults with Intellectual Disabilities.

The event resembled those in the past as many of the dedicated volunteers and the members of the program were on hand to ensure that the day’s proceedings went off without a hitch. Prior to the round, golfers prepared for 18 holes at the beautiful Country Club course while enjoying lunch and mingling amongst friends. Once the round had ended the golfers and a few additional guests made their way to the Montecassino in Woodbridge for an after-dinner affair that gave the organizers a chance to reward the day’s winners and the participants with a delicious meal. Throughout the “19th Hole” experience, which was MC’d by CHIN-TV’s Andrea Trentadue, auctions and raffles took place to make winners out of a few more participants, with our very own publisher John Amendola servicing up an exciting Live Auction experience. All of the proceeds helped the committee raise over $105,000 for Alternatives.

On top of the $105,000 raised was a surprise $10,000 that was presented to Phyllis Santone by Mayor Bevilcqua towards further programing at Alternatives.
