YRT/Viva launches dial-a-ride pilot

Beginning January 4, York Region Transit/Viva will launch Dial-a-Ride North, a pilot project to provide on request transit services to select areas in the towns of Georgina and East Gwillimbury. Provided in partnership with Community and Home Assistance to Seniors and funded by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, the service is intended to help residents in less-populated areas of the region connect to existing public transit service weekday mornings and evenings. Customers must book rides 60 minutes in advance of their trips.
