Q - What did you think was the biggest story for Thornhill residents this year and why?

A - While I’d like to think that the “biggest story” was the two provincial elections and our recount, which made national news outlets, I’m pretty sure that the top story was our amazing athletes: Milos Raonic and Andrew Wiggins.

Q - Which issue/story had the biggest impact on you in the past year and why?

A - I would definitely have to go with our two provincial elections, which took me from an optometry clinic in Markham to Queen’s Park.

Q - What do you predict will be the biggest issue for Thornhill residents in the coming months and 2015 generally?

A - I hope that the big story of 2015 will be that York Regional Council is successful at halting the plan to bring the VIVA bus lanes on Bathurst and Centre and instead focus on getting the funding to start getting subway and expanded GO train service to service Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham, Unionville and Aurora.

Q - What is the biggest issue you hope to focus on in the coming year?

A - My biggest issue continues to be getting things moving — traffic and the economy.

Q –What is your New Year’s resolution for 2015?

A - I’ve already fulfilled my resolution - my garage is cleaned up after three elections (it was full of signs and posts for myself and my son, Josh) so I will have to have to find something new. Since I am travelling to a conference with the new Francophone secretaire generale, Michaelle Jean, I think I should continue to focus on improving my French proficiency.
