New mural in Burlington

The City of Burlington has selected PA System, an artist collective comprising Patrick Thompson and Alexa Hatanaka, to design a mural to be installed at Norton Community Park. The city’s public art steering committee asked artists to consider student involvement, community diversity and the range of uses for the site in their concept development and installation process.

After receiving 23 applications, PA System was selected for its use of bold colours and patterns creating a year-round focal point for the park and an abstract design allowing for a broad range of interpretations. The mural is expected to be complete in May at a cost of $25,000.
