In the wake of last week’s horrific attacks in France – killing a total of 17 people – Markham council is inviting residents to sign a book of condolence.
Until Jan. 22, the book will be available to sign in the Great Hall of the Markham Civic Centre for anyone wishing to share his or her thoughts and support.
“The victims of this act of terrorism should be remembered for their dedication to democracy and freedom of expression,” said Mayor Frank Scarpitti.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of France and the many friends and family members of those who lost their lives during this tragic attack.”
The civic centre is near Hwy. 7 and Warden Avenue.
