As a New Year and new term of council begin, so does the outreach for public input and involvement.

Markham is now seeking volunteers to fill the seats for many of the city’s boards and committees for 2015.

Board and committee groups are formed to provide council with a more in-depth perspective on certain topics and issues around the community. Applications are being accepted until Jan. 30.

An information session will be held Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Markham Civic Centre in the Canada Room.

- Seniors Advisory Committee
- Seniors’ Hall of Fame Committee
- Environmental Advisory Committee
- Leash Free Markham Committee
- Public Realm Advisory Committee
- Flato Markham Theatre Advisory Board
- Doors Open Markham
- RBC Markham - Milliken Children’s Festival Committee
- Race Relations Committee
- Agricultural Advisory Committee
- Cemetery Board, Markham
- Cycling & Pedestrian Advisory Committee
- Main Street Markham Committee
